Class members in the Yordi Martinez v. Norms Restaurants LLC case are defined as California consumers (to include the city of Los Angeles) who possessed a Norms Restaurants gift card that was originally issued and/or activated between Jan. 1, 2008 and Dec. 31, 2015.  Class members who tossed a Norms gift card in the trash because a Norms employee told them they could not use it due to the fact it had less than $10 on it should file a claim ASAP.

In order to file a claim the class member will have to provide their name, email address, and mailing address.  The class member must also check the declaration box declaring they meet the criteria in order to qualify for the settlement under  penalty of perjury.

  • Their will not be a fairness hearing in the case as The Norms Restaurants gift card class action settlement has been given final approval by the judge overseeing the case
  • Class members contend that Norms Restaurants violated California law when they denied gift card use with less than $10
  • Under California law, gift cards or gift certificates with a cash value of less than $10 are redeemable for its cash value (this became effective on 1/1/2008)
  • The Court did not decide which side was right, but both sides agreed to the Settlement and the Court found the Settlement was fair, reasonable, and adequate
